Emotion that I can no longer contain -
Seeps quickly from my fingertips;
A desire that has finally taken me -
I hear my own words leaving my lips!
A wanting I have kept silent within me -
Now, known by the one who knew not;
My fear of saying has left me dry -
In complete darkness, I fired the shot.
Leaked words have left me relieved -
No more secret heart left to bear;
I've gone off into the distance -
Hoping you will follow me there!
Unknown to the place to which I lead -
Knowing, though, pure bliss awaits;
Bringing down the fearful surrounds -
Knowing, all that my being anticipates.

Contemplation
Moments lost, time seems wasted -
Can I recover what has not been?
Should I wait, or cut my losses?
This hopelessness I will not win.
Can I know, truly know for sure -
What was really meant to be?
Or was it never meant to be at all -
And not meant for me to see?
Like a scared cat, you sprinted -
What happened to all that bravery?
Courage being indeed your strength -
Did you think it to be slavery?
Confused, I let it all go -
Down to the tiniest last string;
Lost for any of the reasons -
Accepting the heartache it brings.
Still in a haze of all the whys -
I now turn and walk away;
Leaving you to your choices -
With nothing left to say.

Exposed
A simple phrase it was indeed -
Just a word or two in teasing;
All that was needed in any case -
To bring it all beyond reasoning.
So, here, I sit - knowing that -
The fairytale has ended;
Secretly wishing it had been true -
In a life where none pretended.
Still I took that chance - knowing -
What the end result would be;
Wanting not, to wait for the heart
That truly could not see.
Drawn once again, trying to believe -
The love of my lifetime still awaits;
One who can truly love me openly -
Exists not, in the land of mates.

Rescued
Chaos, all around me, sucking me in -
Lost for direction, crumbling fast;
Sinking, beginning to succomb -
Then, here you are, my love, at last!
Suspended in the luscious moment -
Knowing, at last, you are so near;
I close my eyes; feel you about me -
Transported the moment you are here.
Every ounce of fear quickly released -
Finally, you have made the choice;
One step closer to the realization -
Ah, the beautiful sound of your voice.

If
If I could only wish upon a star,
That I might be where you are;
I'd fill each moment with a kiss,
And tell you how very much I miss,
The smile that warmed every day,
The funny things you would say,
The twinkle in your eyes so bright,
If I could see you I just might,
Risk everything I hold so dear,
Just to have you with me here.
I'd swim across the Atlantic Ocean,
To set things in their proper motion.
It would not be courage I would lack,
If I thought you could be back,
Within the arms made only for you;
There is truly nothing I would not do.

Reunion
The man who has stolen my heart
Through centuries of darkness and light,
Stands before me now in perfect vision
Just as I was giving up the fight.
His eyes are bold and a wise steel blue;
His hair is of the darkest raven;
Stature in perfect compliment of my own;
Brilliantly smiling and clean shaven!
Locked in the recognition of mates;
The world seems suspended in time;
All around notice the explosion;
Hearts that were so hard to find.
So long had we waited painfully
In search of our missing piece;
Past travels mean nothing now.
The search, now, will finally cease.

Redemption
Never another knew me so well;
I, your greatest obsession -
Within the grip only we knew;
Love, our greatest possession.
Not understood by any others;
Knowing a bliss they knew not -
Bound together, our tiny pieces;
Forever tied, our intricate knot.
So very long, I had waited for you;
My ultimate prayer, you were there -
Without you, now here I stand -
This, my life's ultimate despair.
You are in everything, everywhere;
All around, wherever I turn -
I close my eyes and see your face -
For your touch, I so yearn.
Longing for the day, you will come;
Knowing, without you, I must stay -
Fighting, grasping, for strength;
Alone, forever, in this bed I lay.
I feel you trying to carry me;
I know I must stand up and fight -
Here, in this fit of anger, I stay -
Things cannot be made right.

Regret
Moments, lost in time eternal;
Never more to be revived –
In a simple flash of time,
Of your love, I am now deprived.
And once, to me, you truly were –
Everything within my being;
Lost, now, it seems, forever –
Before my eyes, now I am seeing;
All that once was and was to be –
Stolen, by a lash of the tongue;
Thoughtless, pointless, words –
Old is the heart that once was young.

Simmering
I knew you still, even then –
With your steamy hot sin;
When bottles knew their way –
Across any sunny day;
No matter at all what time –
It was surely time to shine;
Amidst the stars ever so bright –
You find your way to me this night.
You tell me of your heart –
How it was not meant - us to part;
Though, still I see you through-
Knowing not what to do;
Should I wait to know for sure-
With more this pain to endure?
The dance of your eyes this night –
The darkness they do light;
The burning embers of my heart –
Surely a roaring fire will start;
Smother me with your embrace –
For from this scene I will race;
Knowing not what to do –
Still it’s true I love you.

Once Again
A love so grand I never thought to know
Appeared out of nowhere and left me here;
Here to drown in my constant misery –
Love that brought truth, my ultimate fear.
Two hearts - once beat in perfect unison
One left bleeding and in total desolation;
You, the one love I have never known –
Have left me here in miserable isolation.
Until once again, I see your gentle eyes
And know my heart must be mistaken –
Here, for you, I will forever wait;
Until, from this nightmare, I am awaken.
