Redemption

Never another knew me so well;
I, your greatest obsession -
Within the grip only we knew;
Love, our greatest possession.

Not understood by any others;
Knowing a bliss they knew not -
Bound together, our tiny pieces;
Forever tied, our intricate knot.

So very long, I had waited for you;
My ultimate prayer, you were there -
Without you, now here I stand -
This, my life's ultimate despair.

You are in everything, everywhere;
All around, wherever I turn -
I close my eyes and see your face -
For your touch, I so yearn.

Longing for the day, you will come;
Knowing, without you, I must stay -
Fighting, grasping, for strength;
Alone, forever, in this bed I lay.

I feel you trying to carry me;
I know I must stand up and fight -
Here, in this fit of anger, I stay -
Things cannot be made right.
